Why I Ride ...
Dear Family and Friends,
I decided to ride the PMC for the first time in 2015 with my dad. He has been a patient at Dana Farber since 2013, when he was diagnosed with stage III cancer. He has had several recurrences over the past 9 years, where he had to undergo radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and multiple surgeries at the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center. He is currently undergoing treatment (but still riding!) and remains my biggest inspiration. My dad is a cancer survivor because of Dana-Farber, and I am proud and privileged to be riding in our 7th PMC together the first weekend in August!
While I originally began riding because of my dad (and still my biggest inspiration), I have become motivated by many people whose paths I have crossed in and out of the PMC. We ride for our loved ones, but we also ride for the doctors, nurses, researchers, the people cheering us on from the side of the road, those who lost their battle to cancer, and the people fighting for their lives right now. Thank you so much for all of your support over the years!
